Psychiatric knowledge is especially important in the development of professional clinicians for many reasons. To be aware of psychiatric  diagnosis, treatment and prevention of mental disorders is really necessary  for the following reasons:
  1. Psychiatric disorders in recent decades go first as far as their impact and severity of social and economic damage to the developed economies, prevalence of  heart disease and cancer.
  2. The incidence of so-called "soft form" of mental disorders has increased dramatically in the structure of the overall incidence of mental disorders. Pathomorphosis of mental disorders moves towards the “somatization” of  mental disorders (the phenomena when somatic complaints  move to the forefront in the clinical manifestations rather than psychological ones).
  3. Due to modern World Health Organization policy the responsibility for treatment and prevention of uncomplicated mental disorders is entrusted rather to general practitioners  working in primary care than the psychiatrists and psychiatric hospitals
